Life, as always, has been busy. On top of our normal work/school/play schedule, we've all been traveling a ton. Here's what the last few months have looked like, travel-wise:
January 30 - February 2 - I was in Fargo visiting Erin and her family.
February 6 - 8 - Paul was out of town for work.
February 20 - 22 - Paul was out of town for work.
March 6 - 8 - Paul was out of town for work.
April 10 - 12 - Paul was out of town for work.
April 13 - 16 - I was in Ft. Meyers hanging with my dad.
May 4 - 6 - Paul was in Las Vegas for a bachelor party.
May 9 - 12 - We all went to Minneapolis.
May 14 - 17 - Paul was out of town for work.
Whew! Are you tired just reading about it? Our trip to Minneapolis was a huge success. The boys did really, really well on the plane and during the weekend in general. We got to visit Indeed Brewing Company (admittedly, this was the main point of our trip), and we took the boys to the Nickelodeon amusement park in the Mall of America. They LOVED it. Seriously. It was so, so fun to see Nolan's face as he experienced the thrill of the rides. Beck's favorite was the Log Chute. We also visited Minnehaha Falls and briefly hung out with some old friends. We stayed at Tom's house, which was comfortable and conveniently located near all of our destinations. I was a little worried about how it was all going to go down, but again, it went really well. Pro tip: Tell your kids that the *ding* after the airplane reaches cruising altitude is the pilot's signal that it's time to take a nap. Paul came up with that one a few years ago and it has worked perfectly ever since. Also, the highlight of the trip (from the boys' perspective) was when Uncle Tom canned some water in two Indeed cans. They got to walk around drinking their *beer* and they raised some eyebrows.
And now, Summer is on its way. We've got plans to have some sort of a garden, family pictures are scheduled for next week, Nolan finally started riding the Strider, and we bought a HUGE family tent so we damn well better go camping or that will be a pointless purchase. Fun times ahead!
I'll leave you with my efforts to get a good picture of the two little rascals.
