Although we have lots of actual teething toys, this giraffe, which is not a teether, seems to be the most comforting to Beck's tender gums. He likes to stick one of the feet in his mouth and go about his business. It cracks me up. He has eight teeth, and more on the way.
We had his 12 month check-up today. Overall, he's healthy and right on track. He's 30 & 1/4 inches long, which is like the 60th percentile. His weight is another story. He's 17 pounds 10 ounces, which is exactly what he weighed when we had his weight check about 6 weeks ago. We think he probaby gained some weight, but lost whatever he did gain over the past three days due to a little stomach bug.
The stomach bug - When we went to get him out of his crib on Wednesday morning (his birthday!), he had thrown up. He's thrown up two more times, and it's now moved to the other end. Hopefully, it passes quickly.
Beck did get a little birthday party at daycare on Wednesday. They had cake, which he wasn't interested in because of his tummy troubles. We're planning to bake him a cake and celebrate as soon as he's feeling better.
I know this post is a little out of the blue - I think the last time I wrote was in March!? I've decided to start working part-time. Right now, I'm planning to work on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which is what I did this week. Even though we're dealing with a sick Beck, the week was a major improvement, so I think this is going to be a good change.
I'm hoping to be able to resume regular blogging, so stay tuned!
(Note: This was written by Sonja - it says Paul because I did it from our flickr account...not sure how to fix that.)
