Words

I don't really have a topic in mind for this post, other than memorializing Beck's growing list of words. There are a couple scraps of paper scattered throughout our house (a post-it, the back of an envelope, etc.), which are my attempts to make this list. When I was working full-time, I did a pretty good job of keeping track of milestones in Beck's baby book, but now that I'm with him more, I seem to lose track of what happened when. Did that tooth poke through this week? How long has he been talking? I've been a five-day-a-week SAHM for 4 1/2 months, and they've absolutely flown by. It's a blur!

In an effort to secure some memories of this exciting second year of Beck's life, here's a rough list of words he's said (or made a good-faith effort to say): In no particular order - new, uh oh, whoa, this, bath, woof, moo, roar (as in "what does a lion say?"), please, no, down, more, books, juice, one-two, mess. I've probably missed some words, and the list is probably growing as I type, but that's a good start. He's also continuing to sign, learning new signs (flower, wind), and sometimes signing and saying the word simultaneously (he does this with "please" and "more"). So, Baby Beck is talking! Woo hoo! We haven't uploaded our pictures in a while, but I don't want to do a post without a picture (boring!), so here's an older one.

I just remembered - he signed and said "snow" this morning when he looked out the window - we got an inch or so overnight and it's still coming down!
