Scrapes
We've had a doozy of a week. As you can see from the pictures below, Beck's got some battle scars. It started on Sunday. We all went for a walk. As soon as we got home, I had to leave to attend a cloth diapering class (I think we're going to make the switch!). Beck realized I was leaving and started to run after me. He ran into our patio table and got a small mark above his right eye. See the second picture from the bottom. That one wasn't too bad and faded pretty quickly. Next, Beck and I were at the park on Monday. He wanted to swing. There are two baby swings - one was occupied, so I put him on the other, even though it was torn. I thought I could push him slowly and prevent him from slipping out. Wrong. He fell forward out of the swing. I put my arm out and sort of caught him, but he still pretty much landed on his face. Luckily, the ground is covered in wood chips, so it was a fairly soft landing. He did come away with a few scratches on his head, but they also faded pretty quickly. And then the final blow...we were playing in our back yard yesterday. He was playing with his toy rake and I was pretending to sweep. We were just standing there, raking and sweeping, when he suddenly fell face first onto the cement. The top two pictures show that his poor little nose took the impact. Ugh. I still feel awful every time I look at him. So, that's one, two, three injuries in four days. Hopefully we've reached the injury quota for spring.
